A total of 265 children’s books were collected through the Zumbathon “I dance for education”, which took place at the Olof Palme Convention Center, bringing together more than 120 people who enjoyed music, good energy and above all a lot of dancing. Organized by Good Neighbors to promote reading from an early age, the Zumbathon exceeded all expectations thanks to the generosity of the participants and the support of several sponsors and collaborating brands. Among the main sponsors were: Librería Hispamer, Electrolit, Sólido and Baho Vilma, while Claro Nicaragua, CINA, Zepol, Yahoska Álvarez Salón y Spa, Clínica Ikigai, and On Promocionales also provided their support to make this initiative possible. The four Zumba instructors, along with the DJ and the event’s entertainer, offered their services altruistically, demonstrating their commitment to the initiative and contributing to the positive atmosphere of the Zumbathon. The event not only provided a space for dancing and fun, but also achieved its goal of collecting 265 children’s books. These books will be distributed to create 5 story corners in five schools in Santa Teresa-Carazo, providing children with learning and entertainment that will foster their love of reading and reinforce their educational development. Miguel Martinez, communications analyst for Good Neighbors, expressed his thanks to everyone who made the event possible. “More than 400 children are going to have the chance to enjoy story corners thanks to everyone’s support. We thank each of the people and companies that have joined and believed in us,” he stated during the event. The results of the zumbaton reflected the solidarity of the community in promoting reading among the little ones. It is important to mention that Good Neighbors hopes to continue with this initiative in the future.
