Since August, the municipal office of Good Neighbors in Santa Teresa, in coordination with the Ministry of Health (MINSA), has carried out medical and nutritional checkups for 2,063 children and adolescents (NNA) in 39 hard-to-reach communities. The activity, which is part of the Good Neighbors sponsorship program, seeks to improve the overall health of the beneficiaries by providing multivitamins, deworming and pediatric medicines to treat common illnesses such as flu, diarrhea and allergies.
The check-ups were carried out by MINSA doctors and nurses, who took anthropometric measurements (weight and height), provided nutritional assessments and prescribed medicines according to each patient’s needs. Families and the community actively participated in the process, demonstrating a key commitment to the success of the intervention. The delivery of medicines to those who require them reinforces the effort to guarantee quality care in these vulnerable areas.
